February Blog

The last few weeks have been rather quiet on the riding front due to bad weather and for other reasons. But I am happy to say that I am back in the saddle and hoping that the bad weather has gone!

This month I celebrated my 23rd Birthday and had a fantastic day. I am going to buy a new riding hat with my birthday and Christmas money combined. I cannot decide which one I want yet. I would like a sparkly one so looking towards a Samshield I think! I had lots of birthday celebrations and was great to see all my friends and family.

I went back to the University of Hertfordshire this month and went back to Performance Hertfordshire. I was supported on the Elite Athlete support Programme from 2007 until 2012 and was also supported by TASS during that time. The support I received was massive and helped enormously; sadly it all ended when I went to university.

So I decided to go back  and get a new S and C programme, as the one from 2012 is too difficult now my condition has deteriorated. It was hard at times today as things that used to be easy are now impossible. But as long as I can still ride that’s what matters to me.

It was great to be back in the gym, it’s such a great performance environment. It was great to see Fiona and catch up. I know have a new program which is more manageable. I am really enjoying working through the programme and can already see some improvement.

I went to Addington on Saturday night to watch some of the regionals, there were some super combinations there and it was great to cheer on Rob who has been helping me out.

I also have some really exciting news to announce I am now the Para representative for the Central Region. I am really looking forward to increasing the opportunities for the Central Para Riders.

Hopefully next month I will be able to update you on more riding news and even some competition news!
